Extended functional scope of our apps for Creo Elements/Direct Modelling.
For version 9, the individual applications have been revised to support Creo Elements/Direct Modelling 20.6 + 20.7 and, in addition to the revision of the individual applications, a new function has been introduced that is available to all users throughout the system. This function allows you to identify components that have been manually assigned mass properties (surface, volume, centre of gravity, principal axes and moments) and to remove these fixed properties easily.
In addition to stability and general improvements, you can expect the following new features:
Anyone familiar with SolidSteel knows about the software's vast feature set. However, new features have been added to our comprehensive steel design solution, and existing features have been enhanced.
With the new butt joint tool, you can now easily and automatically connect linearly joined profiles.
You have full control over the placement of up to 8 inserted panels and all geometric parameters such as lengths, widths, thicknesses, hole diameters and hole patterns in the butt joint dialog. If PART Assistant is installed, you can also create a complete bolted joint if desired.
The enhanced dialog for the end plate connection function now shows the order of the profiles to be selected and provides an improved display of the respective dimensions for individual end plates.
The display of sketches simplifies and speeds up the creation of end plates and eliminates time-consuming errors.
Do you regularly use a combination of custom and standard profiles in your work?
Then you will appreciate the new option to integrate your custom profiles so that they are simply displayed with the standard profile rows in the dialogs.
To do this, as shown in the images, e.g. with a U-profile according to your own factory standard, it gets a bit technical. Here is a short guide - it looks more complicated than it is in practice, in principle it is only a matter of the two entries shown in green:
Add the key :UI to the file profil.dat in KL_DEFINE_DATA_DIR, then the custom profile series for the corresponding profile type will be displayed, e.g:
(:SERIES "simular_u" :ART 2 :ID "200_100_3" :BEZ "US 200x100x3" :NORM "" :MAT "-" :PR "04aog1965f5c3gb21368" :UI "U")

SolidSteel for Creo Elements/Direct Modeling
Detailed description of the software on the product page
The DSTV Assistant, the latest member of the Apps for Creo Elements/Direct family, has been significantly expanded in its range of functions.
Two new features have been added to the import functions. First, the ability to convert imported neutral formats or DSTV NC data to SolidSteel parts for NC data generation has been added. Imports converted to SolidSteel parts can also be used, for example, to display a stock that is planned for expansion with SolidSteel. On the other hand, imported DSTV-NC data can now be used for visualization and documentation. DSTV-NC data imported for documentation in this way can also be dimensioned.
In keeping with the theme of viewing NC data, it should also be mentioned that external NC data viewers can also be integrated in the new version. These external viewers can now be started directly from the DSTV Assistant, eliminating the need for the Windows Start menu.
The new correction functions can be used to correct errors in the supplied data, such as non-orthogonal or offset holes, as well as convert holes to threads and detect and convert polygonal roundings. Corrections are made using easy-to-understand menus that include color-coded markers for offset holes, for example, and options such as creating an appropriate slotted hole for non-orthogonal holes.
Another new feature that makes it easier to work with imported data is the ability to convert splines to arcs.
It is also now possible to unlock all parts of an assembly at once, saving valuable time.
When working with flat profiles or non-bent sheets, a special assembly is no longer required to detect these profiles.
A new entry has been added to the parameters within the NC settings to define the maximum diameter up to which a hole will be executed as a hole in the corresponding NC block. This means that it is now possible to centrally specify that if this diameter is exceeded, an inner contour will be generated instead of the qualified comment provided in DSTV-8, which works regardless of whether the machine control used can interpret the qualified comment or not.
For the record profiles area, i.e. scanning the existing assembly, the new “Handle small parts” function can now be used to define how existing small parts should be handled. To do this, a reference part, e.g. a screw, is selected and a procedure such as “Delete parts” or “Exclude parts” is defined depending on the volume of this reference part.
Also in the record profiles section, another new function can be used to display unrecognized profiles in a separate window by clicking on them.
The generation of DSTV NC data can now be supplemented by XML output with information on part properties, miter angles, contour lengths and drill holes.
Another new feature is the option to view the DSTV generation report in Excel only or in addition. This contains more information than the HTML output and can be used as a kind of bill of material.
Overview of the DSTV Assistant changes
Capturing flat profiles no longer requires an extra assembly for flat profiles
Conversion of splines to arcs (spline -> line/arc)
Optional XML output
Import and conversion to SolidSteel parts of neutral formats and DSTV NC data
Import of DSTV NC data for visualization and documentation
Correction functions for design errors (inclined holes, slightly offset holes, automatic part check, convert holes to threads (company-specific presettings possible), detection of polygonal roundings)
Removal of write protection across all parts of an assembly
Scanning
Exclude parts that are smaller than the selected part
Display unrecognized profiles in a separate window via double-click

The configuration of the seam list in Excel can be influenced in the new SolidWeld version via the weldlist.cfg and weldtemplate.xlsx files.
The values that can be output are in German or English in the CFG file. If the ;; are removed, the corresponding value is output. The order can also be changed.
Furthermore, the following things can be changed in the upper area:
The name of the worksheet
The line for the first list entry
Whether portrait or landscape format
The file name of the Excel template file
the column widths
the number of decimal places for the numerical values
To make it easier to set up your own fittings and connections, a video tutorial has been integrated that guides you step by step through the set-up process.
The automatic drawing generation has been completely revised. Previously, one drawing with one sheet per part was generated. Now there is one drawing with one sheet per part.
With the new version, the dimensioning of holes and threads is now done in the clearer coordinate dimensioning instead of the previous chain dimensioning.
Automatic drawing generation is available in all programs as long as the PART Assistant is activated.
