PTC has announced that each Creo release, starting with Creo 7 and 8, will be supported for a total of four years.

Maintenance releases will be delivered on a quarterly basis for the first two years, with as-needed periodic releases for the balance of four years.

In the past, PTC released “enterprise” versions of Creo every third year, featuring extended support. In the interim, versions for small & midsized businesses (SMB) were released with shorter support. Going forward, PTC will support all Creo versions with consistent, extended support.

Brian Thompson, Divisional VP & GM of PTC’s CAD segment, explained the shift. “We want our customers to know that they will receive exceptional PTC support for a full four years, regardless of which Creo version they adopt. The shift to a consistent, expanded support plan will give our customers additional flexibility and confidence to upgrade to the Creo version that best fits their needs.”
