FeatureDetail: One connection - four options
Master everyday tasks in steel construction efficiently

With our apps for Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, highly complex tasks in steel construction can be handled with ease. In everyday work, however, it is usually the smaller, recurring things that consume a lot of time. Using the example of two steel beams that are to be connected, we show the following connections in our just under 5-minute video:

Connection with double end plate

End plate connections are certainly one of the most used connections in steel design. See in the video from 0:16 to 1:28 how easy an end plate incl. the cut of the beam and the complete bolting is designed in its entirety with SolidSteel and the Part Assistant.

Connection with clip angles

The second example is the joint with a clip angle connection. The clip angle connection tool does 4 tasks in only one step. The coping, the drilling, the clip angles and the screw connection are defined and added with just a single tool. To be seen in the video from 1:29 to 2:05.

Connection with non-bending end plate

As a 3rd option, the end plate is bolted to the web of the main beam. See all the necessary steps, from notching the beam that is bolted, to defining the bolted and welded connection, to adding and patterning bolted connections in the video from 2:06 to 3:33.

Connection by welding

The 4th example comes without any screw connection at all. In the video, we show contour cutting with SolidSteel and weld planning with SolidWeld from 3:34 to 4:33 in the video. The welds planned with SolidWeld are of course added to the 3D model and can thus also be used for the following, static calculations.
