The new version of SolidSteel parametric for Autodesk Inventor offers new features and enhancements that further expand design capabilities, increase work speed, and save valuable time.

In addition, SolidSteel parametric has been adapted to .NET 8 used by Autodesk Inventor 2025, making it easy to jump into the latest version of Inventor.

Try before buy

The update is recommended for all users. It should have been reported as available in the software if you have "Automatically check for updates" enabled. If you have not received a notification, you can start the update manually in the Settings menu.

Miter plates

Miter plates are now available in the new version of SolidSteel parametric for Autodesk Inventor.

Basically, they work the same way as the double end plate, but with the new feature, both profiles are automatically shortened by the respective plate thickness. It is also possible to install the miter plates at different angles – the plate size is automatically adjusted to the new situation.

Of course, welding assemblies are also automatically created or existing welding assemblies are extended, and the plates can be managed as usual in the automatic DXF export and in all other subsequent processes.

Base plates

With the new base plate feature, SolidSteel parametric version 1.2.0b allows you to place base plates quickly and easily. All you need to do is select a profile.
Based on the global upward direction, the base plate is automatically placed at the bottom of the profile - but this direction can also be changed individually.

Column shortended by basplate thickness

The base plate can either be placed below the selected profile or the profile can be shortened by the thickness of the plate. This option allows you to quickly achieve your goal without having to consider the thickness of the base plate when creating the sketch.

Optionally, shear studs can also be placed.

A welded assembly is automatically created from all components if specified in the SolidSteel parametric settings.

Autodesk Inventor 2025 support

With the release of Autodesk Inventor 2025, Autodesk switched to .NET 8.0.
This necessitated an update to our add-in to align with the new environment. With the latest version 1.2.0b of SolidSteel parametric, Inventor 2025 is now fully supported.
