We at Klietsch have been selling CAD software from PTC since the 1990s. Originally, the products were distributed under the name CoCreate, a division of Hewlett-Packard, until they were bought by an American investor in 2006 and taken over by the aforementioned PTC in 2007.
But that is just for historical context.
Already at that time, our engineering team supplemented the CoCreate software with useful extensions for steel, plant and mechanical engineering. From the moment we took over the distribution of CoCreate, we were able to offer our customers an "all-round carefree package". They purchased the software from us, received useful add-ons from us, and were supported and serviced by us after the sale. Many of our early customers are still with us today.
So why should we change anything?
Well, our core competence has been the development of software solutions since the late 1970s. Over the years, we have developed into a full-service provider for the development and programming of branch-specific 3D CAD solutions for all major systems such as PTC Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, PTC Creo Parametric, SOLIDWORKS, Siemens NX and Autodesk Inventor.
The resale of software has been a valuable and useful addition to our business for many years now.
Even when business models have worked well for decades, they need to be reexamined from time to time to make sure they are fit for the future. That's what we did before we decided to hand over the resale of PTC to a trusted partner.
In order to make this decision, we had to make important preparations and set the stage for the handover to the new partner.
The key question was How can we ensure a smooth transition in which the customer not only retains his conditions 1:1, but can even benefit from a change?
We were able to quickly find a trustworthy business partner in Inneo Solutions GmbH. The strategic partnership with us allows Inneo to concentrate on its core competence: the sale of 3D CAD software. As a long-standing Platinum Partner for PTC products, Inneo has the best prerequisites and references.
This means that within the scope of this strategic partnership, Inneo Solutions GmbH will take over customer support for the PTC product portfolio and we will continue to be available in all technical areas such as system configuration, programming of CAD solutions or Model Manager adaptations, ERP connections, etc.
The additional benefit for our customers: Together with Inneo we can also provide information on new PTC topics (which we have not yet covered).
Admittedly, sometimes it is difficult to let go of something. But when you do (after careful consideration and good preparation), you have your hands free to do things that you might be even better at. In our case, as already mentioned, it is the development of software solutions. This is where our strength lies and where we benefit from our decades of experience. Inneo, on the other hand, is sharpening its focus on sales and creating new opportunities for improvement.
Giving up the distribution of PTC products gives us the opportunity to put our energy into new projects to enhance PTC products, such as the new DSTV Assistant for PTC Creo E/D.
By the way: We now also have the capacity to train three more colleagues in software development for PTC Creo Parametric and Creo Elements/Direct Modeling – so that the experts who have been doing this for decades can quietly pass on their knowledge to the next generation before they retire.
So the most important message around the decision not to resell with PTC and to partner with Inneo is this:
Even if our customers no longer buy software from PTC via Klitsch, we will still be there for them - perhaps even more closely and reliably than before.
The conclusion for us is: Something very good can always be developed into something better.
