We are pleased to announce the release of SolidSteel parametric for Autodesk Inventor v2.0.2.

Version 2.0.2 offers a number of enhancements, here is an overview of the major new features:

Important update information!

To successfully activate the extensive changes in the profile database, it is necessary to rebuild the database.

There are generally two methods for doing this:

1st method (recommended)

Before installing the update, rename or delete the existing database.

To do this, simply delete or rename the "DataBase.db" file located in the following folder: C:\ProgramData\Klietsch\SolidSteel parametric for Inventor

After renaming or deleting the file, start the update as usual and the database will be recreated automatically.

2nd method

If you need to recreate the database after installing the SolidSteel parametric v2.0.2 update, follow these steps:

Make sure that Inventor is closed
Delete or rename the "DataBase.db" file located in the following folder:
C:\ProgramData\Klietsch\SolidSteel parametric for Inventor
Start Inventor and recreate the database in the SolidSteel settings by clicking on the “Create Database” button at Database path

What’s New in v2.0.0?

Revision of US profiles / error correction for radii

Some US profiles in the database were found to have incorrect radii. The profiles have been completely updated; the changes affect the following profiles:

I-Profiles

series: HP | standard: ASTM A6/A6M-16
series: M | standard: ASTM A6/A6M-16
series: S | standard: ASTM A6/A6M-16
series: W | standard: ASTM A6/A6M-16

L-Profiles

series: L-equal | standard: ASTM A6-83
series: L-unequal | standard: ASTM A6-83

T-Profiles

series: MT | standard: ASTM A6/A6M-16
series: ST | standard: ASTM A6/A6M-16
series: WT | standard: ASTM A6/A6M-16

U-Profiles

series: C | standard: ASTM A6/A6M-16
series: MC | standard: ASTM A6/A6M-16

Rectangular Tubes

series: HSS-rectangular | standard: ASTM A1085/A1085M-15
series: HSS-square | standard: ASTM A1085/A1085M-15

Round Tubes

series: HSS-round | standard: ASTM A1085/A1085M-15
series: Pipe | standard: AISC

Corrected US Profiles

Placement error for round pipes has been fixed, offsets are now calculated correctly.

Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements

This version also fixes a number of bugs to ensure a smoother and more reliable user experience:

Bolted Connections: Errors in the screw standards have been corrected.

Drawing Assistant: Error during drawing export has been fixed.

Railings: Fixed a bug with side mounted railings.

Stairs: Incorrect link to the manual fixed.

Clipangle Connection: Error with screw grip length fixed.

Gusset Plate: The bore diameter was not adjusted when placing bolted connections. This error has been fixed.
