The SolidSteel parametric program packages

The SolidSteel parametric program packages offer a range of graduated functions tailored to typical industry tasks.

The Engineering Package provides all the tools needed to design detailed steel structures, from the first beam to typical steel connections, user-defined connections, parametric stairs and railings, all with perfect detailing, including bolt connections and automatic generation of welded assemblies.

The Advanced Engineering Package provides automation for follow-up processes in addition to design functions. This provides you with solutions that completely automate tedious and error-prone tasks such as geometric identical part recognition, position number assignment, and detailed bills of material. Additionally, the specialized DXF export for sheet metal allows you to export all sheet metal components, including any existing labels, powder lines, etc., sorted by number and sheet thickness, with the click of a button. The Drawing Assistant offers convenience when exporting workshop drawings and provides an overview of the current status of existing drawings in one central location at any time.

The Design Package includes all the functions of the two aforementioned packages, as well as additional features for placing façade and roof elements. Thanks to its bidirectional SDNF functionality, collaboration with structural engineering offices or 3D structural analysis software is seamless.

The DSTV Assistant is an optional add-in that can generate DSTV NC or NC1 data from any 3D data source. It can be used with all SolidSteel packages or as a standalone solution. More information about the DSTV Assistant can be found below.

Accompanying and subsequent processes

SolidSteel parametric is the leading steel design solution in SOLIDWORKS. It offers the right tools and functions for every step of the design process, from initial sketches to exchange formats for structural analysis and the transfer of completed designs to production. The process chain does not end with the Apps for SOLIDWORKS once the design is complete as a 3D model on the computer. With the DSTV Assistant, you can fully automate the export of DSTV NC data, giving you all the options you need to offer steel design from a single source.

DSTV NC data in NC or NC1 format

Following the design of a steel structure, an important process is exporting NC/NC1 data in DSTV format. This data can then be transferred directly to manufacturing machines. Whether it's saw angles, notches, or drill holes, the data contains all the necessary manufacturing information. The NC data module, the DSTV Assistant for SOLIDWORKS, is available as a separately purchasable module.
