At the start of the new quarter, we have fresh updates for all four of our SOLIDWORKS add-ins.
This time, the biggest leap forward is in our latest solution, the LOGIKAL Interface for SOLIDWORKS, followed by numerous improvements and optimizations in SolidSteel parametric 7.1.0, DSTV Assistant 5.1.0 and AluFrame Assistant.
All updates focus on smoother workflows, improved performance, and even better integration between the systems – helping you design and manufacture faster, smarter, and more reliably than ever.
Our youngest SOLIDWORKS add-in is growing fast! With version 1.1.0, the LOGIKAL Interface receives the most extensive update of this release cycle – packed with performance improvements, smarter settings, and a completely redesigned user interface.
The update focuses on stability and workflow efficiency: event handling has been optimized for smoother operation alongside other SOLIDWORKS add-ins, and both German and English language support are now available.
A major highlight is the revamped settings interface. Import and export options are now clearly organized by category, offering more flexibility and control. You can now decide which elements to import, toggle external machinings on and off later, and even define standard types for circle sketches.
The import process has become faster and more precise, with new options such as Symbol Lines import and limited import to machinable parts. In addition, imports are now better structured with the help of subassemblies.
When it comes to machining, version 1.1.0 adds full support for external machinings at the assembly level, along with new editing and deletion tools. Features created in assemblies can optionally be transferred to target parts, and the improved contour recognition ensures even complex geometry is handled correctly.
Finally, the export workflow has been streamlined and made more intuitive. Contours are now analyzed only when opening the export window, simple circles can be selected individually, and several bugs have been fixed to make exports more reliable.
This update marks a big step forward for the LOGIKAL Interface – faster, clearer, and more flexible than ever.
Import
The performance of imports has been improved. This is partly due to the individual selection of elements to be imported and the level of detail of SolidWorks features. For example, it is possible to import only those elements that can be edited. This allows irrelevant parts to be omitted.
In addition, imports are now better structured and appear clearer thanks to predefined assemblies.
Support for all types of external machining for export
Logikal Interface now supports all external machining operations that can be exported to Logikal. This includes slotted holes, notches, countersink holes, and threaded holes. These can be sketched and cut as usual in the part itself and now also at the assembly level. The features can now also be adjusted after creation.
In addition, features from the SolidWorks HoleWizard are now also supported. These are converted accordingly and then transferred to Logikal.

- Improved structuring with subassemblies added
Creating external machinings for export
- Creation of external machining operations now also available at assembly level
- Editing and deleting external machining operations before export now possible
- Sketches created at assembly level, including features, can optionally be automatically transferred to the target part
- Support for all valid external machining operations based on sketches/contours
- Support for SolidWorks HoleWizard features
Export
- Improved contour recognition
- Expanded information in the export window
- Simple circular features can be selected individually during export, regardless of the global standard
The latest update of SolidSteel parametric for SOLIDWORKS focuses on smarter workflows and improved usability.
Among the highlights are new options for renaming parts, structures, and connections, as well as additional settings for templates, databases, and BOM handling.
Connection features have also been expanded – for example, endplates can now be aligned to planes, and haunch connections offer more flexibility for chamfer creation.
In addition, several bugs and inconsistencies have been fixed across the software, from metadata handling and profile templates to improved tolerance management and rib placement.
A solid step forward in performance, reliability, and everyday usability.
