DSTV Assistant 1.2.0 & SolidSteel parametric 2.2.0 for Autodesk Inventor – Changelog, New Features & Bug Fixes

We’re excited to announce new updates for both Apps for Autodesk Inventor: DSTV Assistant 1.2.0 and SolidSteel parametric 2.2.0.

A key milestone in this release is that DSTV Assistant has officially moved out of beta status with version 1.2.0. This marks an important step toward a more mature and production-ready DSTV workflow, backed by continued improvements in usability, configurability, and reliability.

An important new feature in SolidSteel parametric 2.2.0 and DSTV Assistant 1.2.0 is proxy server support. Some companies route all network traffic through a proxy infrastructure, which previously caused communication issues with our server. With this release, the login process now includes proxy configuration options, reliably resolving these connectivity issues in proxy-restricted environments.

Vault integration (currently in beta): beams and fasteners can be sourced from Autodesk Vault
Content Center integration: beams, fasteners, and other standard parts can be sourced from Content Center libraries

Inch values can now be entered as fractions
Railings can now generate drawings
Ribs can now have top and bottom gaps
Drawing update: view selection added for WCA

Manual boltings now support sketch-point selection
Stair previews now correctly update when activating stringer cuts
Changing stairs now correctly updates connecting cuts
Endplate presets created in English now work when switching to German
Endplates now also rotate their hole positions
Clip angle previews are now correctly updated when switching between double-angle and single-angle modes
Fasteners outside the plate are no longer created
Manual bolting now responds to newly added sketch points
Steps loaded from Content Center now work correctly
Fasteners with "/" in the name now work correctly
Gussets now revert to normal (with a message) when no holes can be extracted
SDNF re-import now clears existing todos to keep them up to date
The documentation file is now downloaded automatically when missing
German railing parameters with "oE" are now recognized as integers
Improved error handling in the settings dialog
Cleaner add-in activation and deactivation
