With Foundations, you can quickly and easily calculate block foundations for steel structures:
With automatic size optimization
With load transfer from the 2D framework system and frame programs
With determination of the required bending reinforcement
With punching shear check
And, if required, with calculation of the restraint depth.
Foundation is a product of the STAHL 2000 series and is available both as a stand-alone program and as part of the Program Packages Hall and Tools.
Thanks to STAHL 2000's proven tab system, the calculation and dimensioning of the foundations is completed in a minimum of time.
Entering the geometric boundary conditions is really easy. You only need to enter the estimated foundation length, width, and thickness, and any column eccentricity. You also need to enter one or more soil layers, including their properties.
The required concrete quality and concrete cover are automatically determined by Foundation if you have selected an appropriate exposure class.
You can define any number of load cases for the load (each with a vertical load, a horizontal load and a bending moment). Alternatively, you can import support loads from the programs Symmetrical Hall Frame EC, Mono Pitch Roof Frame EC and 2D Framework EC. For alternative load groups, e.g. wind from left / wind from right, Foundation automatically uses only the most unfavorable load case.
If necessary (e.g. for hundreds of combination load cases), the foundation dimensions are increased to ensure stability.
In this case, you can customize the dimensions again.
Dimensioning is also very simple: the required longitudinal reinforcement is displayed. All you need to do is select rebar or steel mesh of the correct size - and you're done!
When punching shear design or restrained foundations are enabled, the required reinforcement and restraint depth are specified in the output form and can be taken into account when creating the drawing.
The standard output system of STAHL 2000 is used to output the results.
You can preview the output on the screen, display graphics (system, influence lines) and output to a printer, PDF or Word document.
Our solutions for structural analysis in steel construction are used thousands of times worldwide.

With Mathcad you can easily create a calculation document with text, images and formulas. Similar to a text editor, but the formulas are automatically mathematically exact and the formula content is not just text, but variable values.
In our opinion, Mathcad is one of the most underrated programs and should not be missing in any engineering office!
