The DSTV Assistant for Autodesk Inventor allows you to export NC data of steel components (profiles and sheets) in DSTV format directly from Inventor and transfer it to manufacturing machines. You can export NC data directly from SolidSteel parametric, Inventor frame generator, Revit models* or any imported file such as STEP, IGES etc.
The DSTV Assistant can be used directly in the design department, as well as in the traditional way of work preparation, and can be seamlessly integrated into internal processes.
*To import Revit data into Autodesk Inventor, the “Autodesk RVT Import Translator” plugin is required, which is automatically installed during the first Revit import.
The DSTV Assistant is directly integrated into Autodesk Inventor and can be used by anyone with basic knowledge of Inventor. It has been designed to provide as much functionality as possible within the familiar Inventor environment and standardised dialogues.
The DSTV Assistant is installed using an easy-to-use installer that guides you through all the necessary steps.
The DSTV Assistant is only available as a network licence, so licences can be distributed within the company network as required.
When generating NC data from a 3D solid, the DSTV Assistant analyzes the part and determines the profile type or sheet orientation, as well as all machining operations such as holes, cutouts, chamfers, and more. Intelligent features allow NC data to be generated very quickly and automatically in DSTV format. However, if, for example, the profile type is not known or the sheet orientation is unclear, the user may have to make manual entries. Here, too, the DSTV Assistant provides the best possible support with clearly structured queries for the missing information.
In conclusion, the DSTV Assistant is the perfect addition for users working with steel components in Autodesk Inventor, providing automatic functions for exporting NC data in DSTV or NC1 format directly from Inventor. The origins of the data are almost irrelevant as long as Autodesk Inventor can import the data and the volumes are properly defined.
